A little bit about moi…
I’ve always loved weddings…
From being a bridesmaid as a child to now, I find weddings are a culmination of love and joy, the atmosphere infectious, electric and bringing out the best in everyone (most of the time, unless it goes all EastEnders).
I have also always loved performing, studying drama at school, college and Uni (for a few weeks anyway), then moving to London to find my fame and fortune as an actress (or Extra - landing a few choice lines and roles - Don’t ask me about it, I won’t stop). I then fell into casting which I have been doing ever since, and I’ve always made sure to keep my toe dipped in the performing pond where I can - getting myself booked on filming jobs, performing at stand up comedy evenings and completing comedy sitcom writing courses.
The Covid-19 pandemic gave me my first opportunity to take on the role of a wedding celebrant: the couple I was living with at the time had their wedding postponed many times and eventually, due to all the uncertainty, they decided to have a legal wedding day with just six of us at Hackney town hall, followed by a fun wedding breakfast at a local restaurant. Spoiler alert: they later had the wedding of their dreams with all their family and friends in attendance.
Enter moi! We had some wonderful evenings talking about how they met and all key aspects of their relationship which I wove into their wedding ceremony. Conducting the wedding ceremony on the day was an amazing experience; I loved every second of it and at that moment decided I should become a wedding celebrant.
Since then I have conducted a beach wedding where an unexpected downpour halted proceedings; having to think on my feet we ushered guests to the reception venue. After everyone had dried off, the ceremony was finally conducted to rapturous applause! I have also conducted two funerals.
In 2023 I studied for and passed my level 3 diploma in Couples and Naming ceremonies with Civil Ceremonies so I am now a fully qualified Celebrant!
